User Interface
The user is central to the design of every screen in NLSVet. Great care is taken to ensure that anyone can quickly acquire the skills necessary to perform all the essential day-to-day tasks. This makes NLSVet easy to learn and enjoyable to use, right from start.
With the basics in place the user will as a matter of course discern more efficient means and shortcut routes to accomplish tasks, taking advantage of the inbuilt tools.
Consistency throughout the software interface makes it possible to intuitively discover what the software has to offer without having to spend much time on formal training sessions.
We strive to make NLSVet fulfill a supportive function in a way that will serve the user the most. An important part of its function is to assist the user focus at the task at hand. A range of attentive directive tool are deployed to achieve this: sounds, active focus shift, clear concise feedback messages, icons and colour coding are just some of the methods employed to guide the user through an action. Meassures are put in place to make sure no staff member fails to notice a patient marked as deceased, similarly meassures are implemented for other critical subject areas.
Functional Design
The design supports the functionality of the screen and facilitates a dynamic, co-herent, ordered and consistent work-flow that can be adjusted to suit each user's preferred way of working. Every icon, text and other screen element has precise and logical relevance to the matter at hand.
Where necessary - such as on the point of sale - all facilities required are visible for the user to effortlessly identify and the software supports the user through a logical sequence of steps to perform a task. In this manner the NLSVet interface cues a novice user, maybe a new receptionist or a locum, how to raise invoices and receipt off payments and assists him or her in completing these actions.
Most colours in the software can be specified by the user. NLSVet comes with a pre-defined pleasing colour layout, but individual colours can be changed by the user. It is important that a business software that you use every day is pleasing to look at. Does anyone really enjoy working with software that is mostly gray? Furthermore colours are a powerful tool used to instantly communicate relevant information and guide work-flow.
Program Navigation
Navigating around the program is smooth and seamless with ability to move between screens at logical connection points forming an integrated whole from start to finish of the client visit.
Summary
NLSVet provides work structure for efficiency, but allows, with just a few additonal clicks, the necessary flexilibility to cover all situations that may occur in a veterinary clinic.
No advanced features has to be mastered up front in order to perform day-to-day tasks with NLSVet Veterinary Practice Management software, making it possible for every user, whether novice or advanced, to use NLSVet with confidence and ease. Each user will naturally learn how to complete tasks employing more efficient methods and use advanced features in their own time as they become ready to progress. NLSVet allows everyone to work confidently at the level they are at, side by side.
